Hypnotherapy / Hypnosis allows you to harness the power of the subconscious mind to release the old triggers and accomplish successful self-dialogue by altering your old life script.

What will I feel or experience?

First, we discuss what you want to improve or remove from your life.  We attempt to determine the origin of the issue and how it will help you to change your life script. Life script is a component in your subconscious mind (SM) that drives your conscious mind (CM). You may not realize it but your conscious mind is controlled by your subconscious mind and it is estimated that nearly 90% of your mind power is in your subconscious mind! We discuss and determine together how incorporating a new subconscious dialogue will help you achieve your goals. We will also discuss staying stuck right where you are and how that will affect your life! We will discuss the control you will have over your future.

Then, with your willing consent, we induce a hypnotic state to allow me to work directly with your SM by placing your conscious mind on pause and allowing us to introduce healing suggestions to your SC mind.

We finish by bringing you back to your full conscious state and reiterating the agreement.

After the session, I prefer that you take a bit of time to rest, relax and allow your mind to quietly process. Then, you carry on back to your normal life while your mind continues processing the new information and incorporating it into your thought processes. You’ll likely feel relaxed, calm, and comforted. You may notice a shift in your usual thinking or responses, and you may notice some early morning venting dreams as your mind processes it all. Individual responses to hypnosis treatments can be different, some people will remain in a lighter state and recall every word while others may go very deep and not remember anything.  Either way is completely normal

Expanding the Therapeutic Scope

The effects of hypnosis treatments extend much beyond simply controlling habits or dealing with stress, but can help with conditions beyond that, such as easing chronic pains, digestive issues, addressing past traumas, and more. This is achieved by enabling the subconscious mind to release deeply held patterns through hypnosis.

Moreover, hypnosis therapy works to enhance the effects of other therapies, such as bodywork and mindfulness, offering an integrative approach to long-term wellness.

The Science Behind Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a normal, natural state we all go in and out of every day. If you have ever been driving in a car and lost track of where you were, where you were heading, or missed your turn, you were in hypnosis. During hypnosis, the brain enters a natural state where the theta waves are slower. This condition is similar to conditions of relaxation or deep meditation. In such a situation, the brain becomes more receptive to positive suggestions.

This natural shift in brainwave activity allows hypnotherapy treatments to access stored beliefs, habits, and emotions and allows new suggestions to make a positive impact. This is how hypnosis has become an effective tool for lasting change.

Hypnosis Treatments = Empowered Life?

A successful hypnosis session is more than just the feeling of being relaxed; rather, it works to cultivate emotional clarity and reprogram the inner belief of  value, joy, resilience, and equilibrium. Hypnosis enables you to reprogram your thought processes for lasting results of your self created beliefs such as greater self-awareness, emotional freedom, and calm decision-making. Many clients have reported that with regular sessions, they witnessed an increase in subtle but positive internal shifts, self confidence, decreased anxiety, decreased addictive behaviors, and so much more.

FAQ's

Hypnosis is a normal natural altered state that we go into every day. If you have ever lost track of time/location while you were driving or watching TV, you were in hypnosis. While in hypnosis you are more suggestible than normal, allowing a skilled hypnotherapist to assist you to make lasting changes by altering your brain’s programming on the areas you wish to improve. Hypnosis can help by communicating with the subconscious mind which is how we associate our beliefs, responses, behaviors, etc. While in hypnosis you are more suggestible than normal, allowing a skilled hypnotherapist to help you make lasting changes by altering your brain’s programming on the areas you wish to improve. Hypnosis is a very relaxed state, which allows you to go into a daze or trance. You won’t be asleep but you aren’t wide awake either. Clients usually wake feeling refreshed, like having had a nap. The response to hypnosis depends on the person. Some notice gradual changes and some notice changes immediately. If you’re wondering how many sessions you’ll need, it depends on the person and their complaint. You may be able to stop smoking with just one session but other longer term difficulties may take several sessions to ameliorate. However, results are generally accomplished much faster than through traditional therapy.

Your first appointment is generally scheduled for 90 minutes and subsequent appointments are approx 45 minutes. Each person may experience hypnosis differently. Each person and each session can be different as we are all different personalities. Additionally, the mood we arrive in will be different. We do not all have to have the same experience for hypnosis to work. Generally, people either feel heavy and deep in the chair or they feel light and floaty. Either way is just fine and both work with great outcomes.

No, actually I will request that you not speak during the actual hypnosis. I prefer that you have no concerns over accidentally saying anything. However, your privacy is protected by our ethical standards.

Yes, unless you admit to have desires or plans to hurt yourself or someone/something else. That is reportable information to protect all involved.

No, you are not asleep. We do not want you to be asleep. We do want you in the dreamy state just prior to sleep. We want you to experience that deep relaxation feeling of a daze or trance. That provides the best brain waves to accept the suggestions we have agreed upon. We do use the word “sleep” or “deep sleep” just to indicate the experience we want for you but actual sleep pattern is not the goal. Should it seem you may have went too deep and may have fallen asleep, we will lighten your state by waking you gently.

Again, each person is different. Some clients are in a lighter state while others are in a deep state. The different states do not relate to the hypnosis suggestions working, they work either way! However, the lighter states tend to remember more of the details of what was said while the deeper states have less recall. Again, they both work well.

The only side effects experienced and documented are the feeling of some lightheadedness or possibly slight dizziness when you are first “woken”. We use that term carefully because you are not actually asleep, but you may feel like you were woken. That feeling tends to dissipate in minutes and you are back to normal. Generally, people feel very calm, focused, and mentally clear after a session.

Hypnosis is a normal natural state we all go in and out of every day, multiple times a day. There is not a standard rule for how often is too often. By far, clients love the experience and look forward to their next appointment(s) as they process and determine new areas they want to work on.
